Enroll in TVET institutions to acquire skills, youths told

Kisii county government has dispelled claims that there could be TVET institutions within the county that are not recognized by the government.

CEC for Education, Labour and Manpower Development, Amos Andama Nyamoko has urged parents to take children to the vocational training institutions saying the county, through the Ministry of Education has registered them.

Addressing the media at his office, Mr. Nyamoko confirmed that all the 46 vocational training centres are accredited by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) and are offering recommended courses.

“I call upon the youths to take advantage of this institutions and enroll in masses to get skills that can help them in future,” he said.

He added that the county is planning a roll-up program that will help institutions with bursaries to boost the sector.
