A middle aged man has been lynched by irate members of the public for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
Two other suspects escaped unhurt during the incident that occurred in Kisii county.
According to sources, the three broke into the house of Geoffrey Momanyi with an intention of stealing his motorcycle but he realized and raised alarm.
Confirming the incident, Kisii County Police Commander Martin Kibet said the deceased had a deep cut on the head.
The county boss asked the residents to refrain from taking matters into their hands but hand the suspects to the right authorities.
He said that they are looking for the two suspects who are at large.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital awaiting for autopsy.
